Hola!

I hope your student has informed you of our Spanish Class WIG (Wildly Important Goal)…we started it the first week of school. All classes have been working hard to earn their tassel balls for the Sombrero. Once each class earns 8, we will celebrate with a FIESTA!!! (which is NEXT WEEK!)

The way each class earns tassels on their class sombrero is by showing Respect, Responsibility and Readiness each day. If students are on-task, participating, talking only when called upon by the teacher, and being prepared for learning each day, the class earns points. If the class has more points than the teacher by the end of Spanish each day for a week, then the class wins a ball for the sombrero!

Some classes have had to “earn make-up points” to win back a week they lost, but most have done a great job in showing leadership and self-government. We will be celebrating with a class fiesta according to the following schedule below:

Mrs. Sneed, Mrs. Young, Ms. Ziegler, Mrs. Stiltner, Ms. Crowell, Mr. Erye, Ms. Lane, and Mrs. Ward: Tuesday Sept. 28

Ms. Bratz, Mrs. Sarager, Ms. Clouse, Mrs. Edwards, Ms. Mitchell, Ms. Gross and Mrs. Beam: Wednesday Sept. 29

If you can help out with our fiesta, it would be greatly appreciated! I have been encouraging the kids to talk to Mom/Dad about bringing in a piñata, chips, salsa, or drinks for our celebration. We only need one piñata per class, so if you could bring in any of these items, please let me know. We will also need about 30 ct. of plates, cups, and napkins per class. I will be sending out reminder emails through Snapgrades, so please respond via email or send in a note with what you are donating.

Muchas gracias!!

Sra. Weller
Also, a link was sent out with the computerized grading system yesterday for those who were already in the system. I will put your email in as soon as I receive them.

Keep in mind that homework is not accepted late at ALA. If there is classwork, like warm-ups or quizzes that are missing, a student can make those up after school. Please make arrangements to do that with the teacher.

Students checked their grade reports with their Tarea Sheet and their graded warm-ups. If there are missing grades, then the student was not there or did not have their binders with them in class. If these missing assignments aren’t shown to the teacher by the end of this week, they will turn into a ZERO. Please ask your student to show you their warm-up grade and their homework sheet (yellow Tarea Sheet) to double check as well.
